Comments space for the live tracker at pgw.report/council-changes-2026/v2/
Seem as you all loved the tracker :)
This Substack post is the discussion surface for the council changes tracker at pgw.report/council-changes-2026/v2/. The data, methodology, and per-entry sources all live on pgw.report. Comments are open here.
What the tracker is
A two-source-verified list of councillors elected at the 7 May 2026 English local elections who have since left their party, been suspended, or resigned. Every entry is added on the same standard regardless of the party the councillor was elected for. Two independent published sources are required before any name appears. The full source list and trust tier for each row is on the live page.
Snapshot, 2026-05-19
15 entries verified and published in the 2026 cohort. 9 left Reform UK, 4 left Green Party, 2 left Conservative. 8 went to Independent status; 7 are suspended, resigned, or destination unrecorded.
The “considered and excluded” section below the main tracker carries reasoning on candidates that were checked and dropped: wrong cohort, single-source, by-election plant, and similar. That section is part of the methodology, not a leftover.
What this Substack is for
Discussion. Tip submissions, corrections, questions about how a particular source was tier-rated, observations about cohort definition. The publish-side analytical pieces all live on pgw.report. This post and others on the Substack are the conversation space underneath them.
If a comment surfaces something that changes a tracker entry, the change is made on pgw.report and a note is left here.
How to flag a missing entry
Either reply to this post with the councillor name, council, and at least one published source, or use the tip form on pgw.report. Tips with two independent published sources get prioritised. The Green Party press briefing feed and the public submit-tip form feed into the same triage queue.
Disclosure
This tracker is compiled by Paul G Webster, communications officer for East Lindsey Green Party. Every entry passes the same two-source standard. The methodology page at pgw.report/about/ carries the trust-tier definitions and the full editorial disclosure.
Thank you for your time.
